England, she says, has been good to her these past years. TN_29 turns five this year. Named for the random number Neuls would scribble over and over on telephone pads as a child

(and not for her age when she launched the label, as one might expect), it began with a small collection in the summer of 2000.
Neuls had fast-tracked through Cordwainer’s College at the London College of Fashion (whose alumni include Patrick Cox and Jimmy Choo) to get into "something I’d always wanted

to do." (Her previous experience included designing clothing for Jantzen in Canada and christian shoes for Nike in the United States.)
She worked out of her home and, thanks to a well-paid part-time design contract,High Heels for her, which financed the endeavour, was able to avoid bank loans. "I was also able to make mistakes

without huge amounts of pressure."
Trendy British designer Tracey Mulligan picked up on her trail and hired her to outfit her catwalk models with footwear. For a while, Neuls shared the same local manufacturer as

Vivienne Westwood. But when volumes began to grow, along with the British pound, chrisitan louboutin heels, she ventured to Italy and fought the language barrier to form a relationship with the factory

that produces ysl shoes for the avant-garde labels Costume National and Comme des Garcons.

LADIES, consign your Crocs to the cupboard, bin your Birkenstocks and unburden yourself of your Uggs. This year, it’s all about heels. And not just any heels: the only ones to

be seen in are those preceded by adjectives such as ‘vertiginous’, ‘teetering’ and ’skyscraper’.
They have even been dubbed ‘limo heels’   a reference to the fact that they are usually worn by Hollywood starlets who rarely have (or would physically be able) to totter

farther than the few steps that separate their limo from the red carpet.
These heels were never meant for anything as prosaic as walking: they are made to be seen.
But this season, ‘limo heels’ have broken free of the red carpet and are heading for the High Street.
The highest of all   ones that will have your podiatrist in despair   are a Louis Vuitton pair with heels that stand a staggering 17cm. That’s nearly seven inches in old money.

And although they’re not available until next month, there’s already a waiting list.
There are plenty of other towering options in this year’s shoe rack, though, with six inches of stiletto on offer from the likes of Gina and Jimmy Choo.
Christian Louboutin, whose red-soled blahnik shoes are worn by just about every Alister you can think of, is certainly no slouch when it comes to turning out tottering heels, but the

hottest selling design this year is one of his tallest yet.
At six inches, the Catenita, a peeptoe slingback, may be a smidgen shorter than her Vuitton sister, but she’s still kicking up a storm in the world of the high-maintenance heel.
Rumours that A&amp,High Heels for her; E departments are bracing themselves for a spate of twisted ankles may be unfounded, chrisitan louboutin heels, but any woman planning to be on-trend this spring is going to have to suffer

more than a little to be beautiful.

louboutin shoe,High Heels for her, meanwhile, revamped its product to appeal to younger outdoor enthusiasts. And the brand launched a supporting marketing campaign in magazines such as Men’s Health and Men’s Fitness. It also debuted a small collection of closed-toe product for fall that was designed to move the label beyond its warm weather appeal.
At Simple, office shoes, executives became recommitted to making entirely sustainable products, and among its initiatives was the launch of ecoSneaks, a sporty line of louboutins made from recycled car tires, retailing for $80.
"Frankly, it’s hard to think of anything Deckers did wrong with the Ugg brand this year," said Jeff Mintz, VP of research at Wedbush Morgan Securities. "And they made strides this year on the other two, setting those brands up to be stronger."
But Martinez and team expect to do even more as the company prepares to expand aggressively into international markets. "We’ve barely scratched the surface with Ugg," said Ugg and Simple President Connie Rishwain, who has guided the phenomenal explosion of the label for more than a decade, earning Footwear News’ Brand of the Year award in 2003. "It can be bigger overseas."
To do so, Deckers will seek to beef up its presence in the men’s and kids’ markets. At the moment, the international Ugg business comes mostly from women’s boots and casuals. And according to Rishwain, the brand also aims to open new stores internationally, replicating the recent success it has had bowing doors in the U.S., in Chicago and San Francisco. Next up: London.
"The store openings, whether here or outside the U.S., are a place to give people a chance to see the whole brand and get the whole brand experience," said Rishwain.

IT’S when you get out in the wilds of nature that your choice of footwear is most critical. The level of support you require will depend entirely on the terrain, climate, weight of your pack and length of the trail.
Roughly speaking, boots can be put into three categories: light, medium and hardcore.
With light boots, the philosophy here is shorter, lighter, faster. These are the boots you’ll use for trail walking with a day pack.
An example of where they’ll come in handy is on one of the easier trails in the Royal National Park, a hike to the top of Mount Warning (near Murwillumbah) or on the well-worn paths of Yosemite National Park in the USA.
These boots are low cut, and resemble a running shoe on steroids. In fact many adventure racers use them because they are light, breathable and offer exceptional traction. On the downside, they aren’t very waterproof.
The Scarpa Helium ($249) is a modern, high-quality lightweight trekking shoe, offering outstanding cushioning, good support and dynamic grip. The soles have been developed to dissipate shock so you don’t end up with nasty stone bruises.
Other lightweight examples are the christian shoe Quest ($189), or Hitec Outland ($129).
Medium boots  are for slightly more rugged terrain and carrying a heavier pack.
A medium boot will offer decent ankle support and protection, and will be generally waterproof. Examples of where they might come in handy are a trek along Hinchinbrook Island, or New Zealand’s Tongariro Crossing.
The Hitec Transcender 2 ($219) is a typical medium boot. It’s waterproof and has a breathable membrane, thermastatic liner to keep away moisture, and a carbon steel shank for support and stability. It’s made from oiled newbuck leather.
Others to consider are the Scarpa Peak GTX ($329), or LaSportiva Dakota ($259).
Hard core, as the name suggests, are like the Hummer of boots, louboutin shoes, ready to take you anywhere your legs can carry you.
Hard core boots are heavy and require extensive breaking in. On the positive side, they are constructed of thick leather which offers exceptional support, durability and protection and they will be as waterproof as a boot can possibly be.
These are the big guns to bring out when you’re forging new trails, or doing a multi-day trek with a monster pack over rough terrain.
&nbsp,High Heels for her;Use them to explore Federation Peak in Tasmania, or
walking around Mt Etna where the sharp volcanic rock can cut lesser boots to shreds.

louboutin heels STYLE WITH ELSA KLENSCH

&nbsp, christian shoes; What you wear on your feet can make or break a holiday. Stephen Lacey reports.
There’s nothing worse than having a holiday ruined by something as simple as inappropriate footwear. Pack the wrong boots or louboutin heels and you could spend that walking tour of London or New York laid up in your hotel room with the blister from hell.
But that might be the least of your problems; the wrong clobber on your feet can also be downright deadly.
On a recent walk along New Zealand’s famous Tongariro Crossing, I encountered a female who had on a rather fetching pair of sparkling fashion trainers.
&nbsp,High Heels for her; While these may have been perfect for a stroll along the Bondi esplanade, they were woefully inadequate for a day walk in an alpine environment that can turn nasty in a hurry.
And turn nasty it did. Suddenly she was slipping and sliding perilously close to the steep trail edge.
The golden rule in choosing footwear is to wear whatever is appropriate for the environment you’ll be walking in, says Toby Cogley of outdoor retailer, Paddy Pallin. The duration of your trip and the sort of loads you’ll be carrying should also be taken into account.
The key is planning and knowing what you’ll be up against. Forget aesthetics — comfort and safety are paramount.

While our simple inventory is lower this year than last, the front-loading of Ugg and manolo blahnik inventories in order to meet our customer’s demands has increased our total inventory at the end of second quarter. We expect the second quarter trend to continue going forward but we expect year-end inventories to be comparable to last year’s level. Scott will discuss the financials in more details then I’ll give you an updated outlook for our brand.Simple sales aggregated $4.3m versus $6.2m last year, while Ugg sales were approximately $2m versus $716,000 last year. Our international sales for all brands were $13.6m for the first 6 months of 2003 versus $13.9m for the first 6 months of 2002. Year-to-date our domestic sales increased 12% to $46.8m compared to $41.7m last year. Gross margin for the current quarter increased to 48.6% compared to 45.0% in the second quarter of last year primarily due the favorable impact of the strength of the euro in the European market, a high gross margin internet and catalog sales and reduced impact close out sales compared to that of the year ago period. Our SG&amp,High Heels for her;A expense for the quarter was $7.2m or 29.4% of sales compared to $9.0m or 40.1% of sales in the second quarter of 2002.
The decrease in selling general and administrative expenses was due to a variety of factors including the favorable impact of the recent manolo blahnik acquisition, which eliminated $1.3m of total royalties and $0.2m of total license cost amortization. In addition, our SG&amp, louboutin shoes;A expenses decreased as a result of the favorable resolution of the anti dumping duties matter, which I’ll discuss in a minute as well as the lower bad debt expense partially offset by higher sales commission on the increased sales levels, increased marketing expenditures and the addition of the cost of newly acquired internet and catalogue retailing business.
